Job Description:

The employee is in charge of overseeing production activities during the assigned shift in line with production schedules and standards that fulfill criteria for safety, regulatory compliance, environment, quality, customer service, and cost. They report to the AM Plant Superintendent. Contributes to creating and sustaining a culture of continuous improvement as a member of the leadership team for the Plant.

Major Responsibilities

  • In accordance with the Company's policies or collective bargaining agreement, providing hourly workers with appropriate leadership and guidance (coaching, cross-training, addressing and resolving employee-related issues and concerns) will ensure consistency in handling employee issues.
  • Ensuring that their production area is prepared for spontaneous audits by putting it in "audit-ready" conditions
  • Time management and resource allocation are appropriate.
  • Indicators of production performance, such as health and safety, food quality and safety, customer satisfaction, and cost, should be communicated and continually reinforced.
  • Responsible for safeguarding the health and safety of their employees by using methods including routine safety discussions, providing first aid, quick and thorough event investigations, and following through on suggested adjustments.


  • 3 years or more of experience as a supervisor or lead worker
  • Education beyond high school is preferred, especially in operations, business, transportation, or warehousing.
  • Understanding of CFIA and Safety requirements, as well as proficiency with GMP and HACCP procedures
  • Experience working in a unionized setting; knowledge of the meat- and food-processing industries is a plus
  • Able to work around a flexible schedule.
  • Effective leadership, organization, and motivational skills, as well as a track record of success.
  • Excellent understanding of English
