Job Summary:

We are currently seeking diligent and motivated Nursery Workers to join our dynamic team on a temporary basis through the Temporary Foreign Worker Program. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about horticulture and eager to gain hands-on experience in a professional nursery setting. Successful candidates will be involved in various aspects of plant cultivation, maintenance, and nursery operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plant Care and Maintenance: Water, fertilize, prune, and transplant a diverse range of plants ensuring optimal health and growth.
• Soil Preparation: Prepare soil for planting, including mixing soil amendments and ensuring proper soil conditions.
• Pest and Disease Control: Monitor plants for signs of pests and diseases, and apply appropriate treatments as directed.
• Harvesting and Packaging: Assist in the harvesting of plants and prepare them for sale or shipment, ensuring they meet quality standards.
• Facility Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the nursery facilities, including greenhouses, storage areas, and outdoor fields.
• Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of plant growth, treatments applied, and other relevant data.
• Customer Assistance: Provide information and assistance to customers as needed, ensuring a positive and informative experience.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Previous experience in horticulture, agriculture, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Training will be provided.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects, standing for long periods, and working in various weather conditions.
• Attention to Detail: Keen eye for identifying plant health issues and ensuring precise application of care routines.
• Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Adaptability: Flexibility to perform a variety of tasks and willingness to learn new skills.
