Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Line Cook to join our dynamic culinary team at Clique Hotels & Resorts in Calgary. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals that meet our guests' expectations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and working collaboratively with the kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Menu Execution: Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the executive chef.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other kitchen staff to coordinate cooking times, ensure timely service, and maintain a cohesive work environment.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with the monitoring of inventory levels, proper storage of food items, and reporting any discrepancies to the kitchen manager.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance culinary skills and stay updated with industry trends.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a line cook or in a similar role within a high-volume restaurant or hotel kitchen.
  • Education: Culinary certification or relevant culinary education is preferred but not required.
  • Skills: Proficiency in various cooking techniques and styles, strong knife skills, and a solid understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Attributes: Strong attention to detail, excellent time management, ability to work under pressure, and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Language: Proficiency in English; additional languages are an asset.
