Job Description:
Grandview Cattle Feeders Ltd. is seeking Temporary Foreign Workers approved under the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) program to join our team as Beef Cattle Herdspersons. This role involves managing and caring for our herd of beef cattle, ensuring their health, welfare, and productivity. The ideal candidates are experienced in livestock management, attentive to detail, and committed to maintaining a safe and efficient cattle operation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Cattle Care: Feed, water, and care for the herd of beef cattle, ensuring they have proper nutrition and access to clean water. Monitor cattle for signs of illness or distress and report any issues to supervisors or veterinarians.
- Health and Veterinary Care: Assist with administering medications, vaccinations, and other veterinary treatments as needed. Maintain accurate records of health treatments and follow prescribed health and safety protocols.
- Breeding and Calving: Assist with cattle breeding programs, including monitoring cattle for signs of heat and coordinating with breeding schedules. Support calving operations, ensuring a safe environment for cows and newborn calves.
- Facility Maintenance: Keep cattle facilities clean and well-maintained, including barns, feeding areas, and pastures. Perform routine maintenance tasks and report any issues to supervisors for repair or further action.
- Equipment Operation: Operate farm equipment, such as tractors and feeding machines, to transport feed and maintain pastures. Ensure all equipment is used safely and in compliance with company policies.
- Compliance and Safety: Follow all safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Adhere to industry regulations and best practices for animal welfare and environmental stewardship.
Qualifications:
- LMIA approval for Beef Cattle Herdsperson position.
- Previous experience in cattle farming, livestock management, or a related field.
- Knowledge of cattle behavior, health, and nutrition.
- Ability to operate farm equipment and perform routine maintenance.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
