Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to clients in their homes, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and bathing.
- Assist with mobility needs, transfers, and positioning to ensure the safety and comfort of clients.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Administer medications as prescribed and in accordance with company policies.
- Assist with light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and tidying up living spaces.
- Engage in companionship activities, such as conversation, reading, and recreational activities, to promote emotional well-being.
- Accompany clients to medical appointments, social outings, and other activities as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of clients' care plans, activities, and progress.
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of care.
- Report any concerns or changes in clients' health, behavior, or living conditions to the appropriate personnel.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in healthcare or related field is a plus.
- Prior experience as a home support worker, personal care aide, or similar role is preferred.
- Understanding of the physical and emotional needs of clients requiring home care services.
- Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with medication administration.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel to client's residences.
- Clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector screening.
- First Aid and CPR certification is desirable.
