Job Description:

The Finance Supervisor, who reports to the Controller, is in charge of analyzing the financial and cost data for the Chicken division with a particular focus on the Port Coquitlam plant. This position plays a crucial part in the Controller's team's efforts to continuously improve both financial and operational reporting. The financial statement closing process will be accurate, internal controls will be effective (including account reconciliations), analysis and timely, intelligent, action-oriented deviation reporting will be made, and overall leading-edge financial assistance will be provided. The Plant Manager and the operational leadership team will benefit from excellent regular processing and reporting as part of value-added business collaboration.

Important Accountabilities

• To help plant decision-making and finance, provide analysis on hiring patterns, capital purchases, and return on investment.
• Support the process of closing the month-end financial statements
• Find ways to enhance and increase plant reporting so you can make better business decisions.
• Find and create tools and reports to help plant managers with the management of their business units.
• Observe payroll procedures in Kronos and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, particularly those pertaining to prepaid expenses and AP accruals.
• As requested by the Controller, Sales, Plant Manager, Business Performance, and other departments, prepare ad hoc analyses.

Requirements:

• With a degree in finance and either holding or working for the CPA designation.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment (5+ years) in a comparable or related role (food sector an asset)
• A team player will directly affect the formulation and accomplishment of team goals as well as those of individuals, and will eventually be expected to assume leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
• Excellent time management abilities, including the capacity to manage many tasks, deadlines, and customer needs.
• Strong analytical, conflict-resolution, and communication abilities
• Excel expertise; strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
