Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a diligent and enthusiastic Kitchen Helper to join our team under the Temporary Foreign Worker program. The successful candidate will assist in various kitchen tasks, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently. Key Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables, meats, and other food items.
- Kitchen Support: Help chefs and cooks with cooking tasks, including preparing simple dishes and ensuring ingredients are readily available.
- Cleaning Duties: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, and equipment. Clean kitchen surfaces, storage areas, and ensure garbage is disposed of properly.
- Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring inventory levels, storing food supplies correctly, and informing supervisors of low stock or expired items.
- Compliance: Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient and smooth kitchen operations.
- Miscellaneous Tasks: Perform other duties as assigned by the kitchen manager or head chef.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation techniques. Ability to handle kitchen equipment safely.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Attributes: Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude. Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Language: Basic proficiency in English is required; additional language skills are an asset.
