Job Summary:

Cattle Feeders Ltd. is seeking a motivated and experienced Farm Supervisor to oversee our farming operations. This role is open to temporary foreign workers, with support provided through the LMIA and PNP programs. As a Farm Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing daily farm activities, ensuring the welfare of livestock, and supervising farm workers to achieve optimal productivity and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of farm workers, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards.
  • Oversee the feeding, health, and general care of cattle, implementing best practices in animal husbandry.
  • Develop work schedules and assign duties to farm staff, ensuring adequate coverage for all operations.
  • Monitor and manage the farm's daily operations, including feeding, cleaning, maintenance, and health checks.
  • Train new employees on farming techniques, safety protocols, and equipment usage.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
  • Conduct regular inspections of livestock and facilities, addressing any issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of livestock, feed inventory, and other farm activities.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of farm management strategies to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with management and staff, providing updates and addressing concerns as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within the agricultural industry, preferably in cattle farming.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
  • In-depth knowledge of livestock care, feedlot operations, and farm management practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.
  • Certification in farm management or animal husbandry is an asset.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to operate farm machinery.
  • Background check and references required.
