As an LMIA Dairy Herdsperson at Boom Holsteins Ltd., you will be responsible for the health and well-being of our dairy herd, ensuring optimal care and productivity. From feeding and milking to herd management and health monitoring, you will play a vital role in maintaining the efficiency and sustainability of our dairy farm operations.

• Experience: 1-2 Basic Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with daily tasks related to the care and management of the dairy herd, including feeding, watering, and bedding.
• Perform milking duties using modern milking equipment and systems.
• Monitor the health and condition of the herd, identifying and addressing any issues or concerns.
• Assist with breeding and reproductive management, including heat detection and artificial insemination.
• Maintain accurate records of herd activities, production data, and health records.
• Operate and maintain farm equipment and machinery safely and efficiently.
• Assist with general farm maintenance and other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working on a dairy farm preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of dairy cattle management practices and herd health protocols.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physically fit and able to perform tasks requiring moderate to heavy lifting.
  Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new farming techniques and technologies.
