Job Description:

Bohca Bistro & Bar Ltd. is currently seeking a talented and passionate LMIA Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. As a Cook, you will play a crucial role in the preparation and execution of our menu offerings, showcasing your culinary skills and creativity to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests. Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and quality.
  • Station Management: Manage assigned kitchen station(s), including setup, organization, and cleanliness, to maintain an efficient workflow and uphold food safety standards.
  • Menu Development: Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and refine menu offerings, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative techniques to enhance the dining experience.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of food items to ensure freshness, proper storage, and adherence to food safety guidelines, and take corrective action as needed.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the kitchen team, including chefs, sous chefs, and line cooks, to coordinate food production and ensure timely service during peak hours.
  • Sanitation and Safety: Adhere to sanitation and safety procedures, including proper handling of equipment and utensils, cleaning and sanitizing work areas, and following health and safety regulations.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in inventory control, including monitoring stock levels, rotating perishable items, and notifying management of any shortages or discrepancies.

Qualifications:

  • Culinary Experience: Previous experience as a cook in a restaurant or similar food service establishment, with a strong foundation in culinary techniques and food preparation.
  • Creativity: Passion for cooking and a creative approach to menu development, with the ability to bring innovative ideas to the table and adapt to changing culinary trends.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and cleanliness in all aspects of food production.
  • Team Player: Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with the ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and handle pressure during busy periods.
  • Food Safety Certification: Valid food safety certification (e.g., Food Handler Certification) is preferred.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks in a hot and fast-paced kitchen environment.
