Role Overview:

We are seeking skilled and enthusiastic Cooks to join our team at Edo Japan. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring the highest standards of quality and presentation. This position is open to individuals under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, with the opportunity to apply for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards. This includes sushi, teriyaki dishes, rice bowls, and other Japanese-inspired cuisine.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all dishes meet Edo Japan’s high standards for taste, quality, and presentation.
  • Maintain consistency in portion sizes and flavors.
  • Kitchen Operations: Assist in the efficient operation of the kitchen, including food prep, cooking, and plating.
  • Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Sanitation: Adhere to strict hygiene and cleanliness standards. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including kitchen equipment and utensils.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients to minimize waste.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and front-of-house team members to ensure a seamless and efficient service.
  • Compliance: Follow all health and safety regulations, including food safety standards and workplace safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience as a cook or in a similar culinary role is preferred. Experience in Japanese cuisine or fast-casual dining is an asset.
  • Skills: Strong culinary skills with the ability to prepare and cook a variety of dishes. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Language: Proficiency in English is required. Additional language skills are a plus.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability: Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in Canada under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program. Opportunities for
