Job Summary:

We are currently seeking skilled and passionate Cooks to join our kitchen team on a temporary basis through the Temporary Foreign Worker Program. Key Responsibilities:

• Food Preparation: Prepare a variety of Chinese dishes, including appetizers, main courses, and desserts, following established recipes and presentation guidelines.
• Cooking: Execute cooking tasks with precision, including frying, steaming, boiling, and stir-frying, ensuring all food is cooked to the appropriate temperature and flavor profile.
• Ingredient Management: Manage and prepare ingredients by cleaning, cutting, marinating, and portioning as needed, ensuring freshness and quality.
• Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations, equipment, and storage areas, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Inventory Control: Assist in monitoring inventory levels and managing stock, including ordering and receiving supplies as necessary.
• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations and timely service, contributing to a positive and productive team environment.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all dishes meet our quality standards and are presented in an appealing manner, making adjustments as needed based on customer feedback and preferences.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Previous experience as a cook in a Chinese restaurant or similar setting is highly preferred.
• Culinary Skills: Proficient in Chinese cooking techniques and familiar with traditional Chinese ingredients and dishes.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform various physical tasks in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Attention to Detail: Strong focus on food quality, presentation, and safety standards.
• Team Player: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset and the ability to work well in a team.
• Adaptability: Flexibility to handle a variety of tasks and work in a dynamic environment, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new methods.
