Position Overview:

As a LMIA Cook at Edo Japan (Richmond Centre), you will play a vital role in our kitchen team, responsible for preparing and cooking delicious Japanese cuisine to the highest standards.   • Prepare and cook a variety of Japanese dishes, including Teppan-style meals, sushi, rice bowls, and noodles, according to recipes and menu specifications.
  • Ensure that all food items are prepared and cooked to the highest quality standards, following proper food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient meal preparation and service during peak hours.
  • Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, and communicate with management regarding ordering and restocking needs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, including equipment maintenance and sanitation.
  • Assist in the development of new menu items and recipes, as needed.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth communication and coordination between the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulations, including health and safety guidelines.


  • Previous experience working as a cook in a restaurant or similar food service establishment.
  • Knowledge of Japanese cuisine and cooking techniques is preferred but not required; willingness to learn and adapt is essential.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Possession of relevant food safety certification or willingness to obtain one.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
