Key Responsibilities:

• Assistance to Tradespeople: Support carpenters, masons, electricians, and other skilled workers by providing tools, materials, and assistance as needed.
• Site Preparation: Help prepare construction sites by cleaning, loading, and unloading materials, and setting up necessary equipment.
• Material Handling: Transport materials to work areas and ensure they are readily available for tradespeople. Properly store and organize materials to maintain a clean and efficient work environment.
• Basic Construction Tasks: Perform basic construction duties such as digging trenches, dismantling structures, mixing concrete, and assembling scaffolding.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment. Report any hazards or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Equipment Operation: Operate basic construction equipment and machinery under the supervision and guidance of experienced workers.
• General Labor: Assist with various labor-intensive tasks as directed by the site supervisor or foreman.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Prior experience in construction or a related field is an asset but not required. Training will be provided.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, standing for long periods, and working in various weather conditions.
• Skills: Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment. Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Certifications: Safety certifications such as WHMIS or First Aid are an asset.
• Language: Proficiency in English is required. Additional language skills are an asset.
